"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
1. Gun Ownership is your right as a citizen of the United States; regardless of political feelings, it is your right. 2. "Well regulated" at the time the Constitution was written meant "well drilled" or "well practiced". That phrase is not an excuse to infringe upon the right 3. "Militia" is commonly misconstrued and used to promote the idea that just the Military should own firearms. A militia is in fact a military force made up of a civil population. Therefore meaning that civilians have the right as well.
